The Start of the Kikuyu Grass Trial

I have just been down at the DD Equestrian Estate and met up with DDRA Sponsor, Matt Norman from Farm and Turf Equipment WA.

Matt has brought down his commercial spec, zero emission Mean Green Mower to mow the grass short on our Kikuyu Grass Trail before we prepare the ground next week.

Matt has the WA State licence for marketing and selling these amazingly powerful electric mowers. And no noise!!

The Kikuyu Grass Trial has begun, to determine if the area can be cleared of Velt grass, a weed species that is becoming more prevalent in the open areas and reduce the summer fire risk and create a better surface for equine activities.
